Jesus Appears to His Disciples
Why could the disciples perceive the resurrected One?
(1-2)
The cross without a body, a symbol of resurrection and of victory over the darkness (3-6).
Redemption by belief alone? (7) Baptized by the Holy Spirit (8). Selfless love encompasses
all Being (9). Leading a life devoted to God (10). The Spirit of God uses the vocabulary
and terms of human conveyers; their meaning is subject to the change of time - The communities in Christ till the Era of Light
(11-15)
1. On the evening of this day, the first day of the week, the disciples were gathered and had locked the doors for fear of the Jews. Then Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you!” But they became frightened and thought they had seen a spirit.
2. And He said to them, "Behold, it is I, Myself, as
you have formerly seen Me. A spirit can indeed appear in flesh and bone, as you see that I
have. Behold My hands and feet, touch them and see.” (Chap. 87:1-2)

I had no body of flesh and bone, but I adapted My spiritual body to the vibration of the earth and, at the same time, raised the consciousness of the disciples, too, so that they could perceive and sense Me.
3. And when He had said that, He showed them His hands and His feet. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
4. But Thomas, called Didymus, one of the disciples, said to them, "Unless I see the marks of the nails in His hands and lay my finger in the marks of the nails and thrust my hand into His heart, I will not believe.” Then He said to Thomas, "See My hands, My heart and My feet; reach out your hand and put your finger in the marks of the nails and put your hand in My heart, and be not faithless, but believing.”
5. And Thomas said to Him, "My Lord and My God!” And Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who do not see and yet believe.”
6. Then Jesus said again to them, "Peace be with
you! Just as My Father has sent Me, I Am sending you.” And when He had said
that, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit; preach the
gospel and announce to all peoples the resurrection of the Son of God. (Chap. 87:3-6)

and deepen the word:
Verily, "Blessed are those who do not see and yet believe.” The one who lives in and from God does not require any outer proof of the Inner Life. Only t h a t person who lives more externally, who values the visible course of events more than what takes place within wants proof about the life of the inner being.
The words "Receive the Holy Spirit” mean to receive the Holy Spirit, the power from the eternal law, in order to speak and act from the law of love and wisdom, to announce to the peoples the resurrection of the Son of God and to bring them the gospel of love and wisdom.
Verily, you should bear in your heart the resurrection of the Son of God and should rise from your sins through Me, the Christ, the resurrected One, so that you can enter into the life that I Am in the Father.
I repeat: The one who thinks of the crucified One and worships the body hanging on the cross of resurrection still hangs on the cross of sin. He has not yet accepted Me nor received Me in his heart. Therefore, the one who affirms the body on the cross and clings to the cross with the tortured body has not yet risen in Me, the Christ. He demonstrates with his life that he still lives in servitude to sin and that he lets himself be influenced by the sinful.
For the demons want to see the crucified One, the cross with the body. To them, it means the defeat of the Nazarene - not the victory of Christ. With the dead body on the cross, they want to impress upon mankind the conception that the Son of God has succumbed to sin.
Yet I Am risen and have returned to the Eternal. I have brought you redemption. The cross without the dead body symbolizes the resurrection and victory over the darkness. Therefore, all people who live in Me and through whom I live will keep to the cross of victory, which is without a body. For just as I have won victory over the darkness, those men and souls who consciously believe in Me and do the will of the All-Holy more and more every day have also won victory over sin.
7. Teach them the holy law of love which I have given
you. Those who renounce their sins are forgiven, and those who continue to sin retain
their sins. (Chap. 87:7)

and deepen the word:
The words "Those who renounce their sins are forgiven, and those who continue to sin retain their sins” mean that the one has renounced sin who asks for forgiveness and forgives and, if still possible, makes amends for what he has caused. He no longer does things that are similar to what led to the sin, that is, he sins no more. But the sin cannot be taken from the one who, despite knowing better and forgiving and asking for forgiveness, commits the same sins again - not even when he has asked for forgiveness.
And if your neighbour against whom you sinned does not forgive you, your heavenly Father cannot take this sin from you either. However, His grace and love will cause your neighbour to recognize himself and to forgive you more quickly - if he is ready to do this of his own free will.
No one should say that if he just believes in Me, the Christ, his sins will be taken from him. The one who neither recognizes his sins nor repents, thus continuing to sin, remains a sinner. My Redeemer-deed will not take his sin away. For the one who does not recognize himself will not recognize his sins either, nor will he repent of them or make amends for what he has done to his neighbour. Thus, the one who does not take these steps to self-recognition, to true repentance and forgiveness, to asking for forgiveness and making amends will fall into the same sins again and again.
Although the light of salvation, the redemption, shines in all souls, nevertheless only the one who purifies his soul and also keeps it pure becomes perfect. My Redeemer-deed did not wipe out the sins of this world, the sins of all souls and men. It is the power and the source of power for all those who repent and no longer sin. Redemption is the support of the soul and the protection from the dissolution of the soul. It is also the light on the path to the heart of God.
No person and no soul can avoid this process of recognizing, repenting and sinning no more. Only when soul and person fulfil the law of love more and more will they become pure. The redemption of the soul is accomplished when it has again attained purity and has consciously become a child with a pure heart.
Merely believing in Me, the Redeemer of all souls and men, does not bring about the purity of soul and person.
Redemption cannot dissolve any sin, if the sinner's recognition and repentance do not precede it. Redemption means support, strength and light for the soul and then causes the dissolution of the sin, if the sinner recognizes, repents and no longer commits his sins - and makes amends for what he has caused, as far as this is still possible. By doing so, he lets the Redeemer-light become the inner fire of love which then liberates him and accompanies him on the way to the Father's house, to the heart of God.
8. Baptize those who believe and repent, bless and anoint
them and present the pure offering of the fruits of the earth, which I have established in
My memory. (Chap. 87:8)

Recognize that only the spiritual baptism is valid. All other things are symbols and as such are neither meaningful nor valid, because they are not part of the law of God. I did not institute the ritual blessing, anointing and offering of the fruits of the earth to be outer ceremonies. It is spoken as a symbol for the Inner Life and not meant as an outer ceremony.
Only the one through whom the Spirit of God is active and who no longer sins is truly spiritually baptized. Therefore, teach your neighbour to keep the law of God.
When man has renounced sin, thus becoming pure in heart, and keeps the law of God, he is also filled with the Spirit of truth. Then, he is also spiritually baptized.
Your task is to keep the laws of God - and then to teach them. The Holy Spirit will then baptize the one who is pure in heart. For I, the Christ in the Father, baptize with the fire of the Inner Life, with the Holy Spirit.
9. Behold, I have sacrificed My body and My blood on the
cross for the redemption of the world from sins against love and from the blood sacrifices
and feasts of the past. (Chap. 87:9)

In the present and in the future, it will be that those who honestly repent of their sins and no longer commit them also refrain from blood offerings and feasts of debauchery. The one who no longer sins against selfless love is consciously in the love of God and selflessly loves all people and all Being - all that is from God: animals, plants and also stones.
The ennobled person and the soul which is imbued with the love of God will no longer lay violent hands on life. The one who is for God is also for his neighbour, and also for the world of animals, plants and minerals.
10. And you shall offer the bread of life and the wine of
redemption in a pure gift with incense, as it is written about Me; and you shall eat and
drink of them in remembrance that I have liberated all those who believe in Me from the
old servitude of your forefathers. (Chap. 87:10)

and deepen the word:
"And you shall offer the bread of life and the wine of redemption in a pure gift with incense” means in its sense that the one who leads a devoted, that is, God-filled, life, who devotes his thinking, speaking and acting to the Eternal, will remember Me in everything. Each meal will be a meal with Me, because he accepts thankfully the gifts from the hand of God and partakes of them consciously.
And the one who believes in Me, his Redeemer, and accepts and actualizes what I have taught is free from the bondage of sin.
Everything that was deduced and externalized from My words does not belong to the Inner life, nor to My teaching.
11. For they had made a god of their stomach and sacrificed the innocent creatures of the earth to this god, instead of sacrificing the carnal nature within them-selves.
12. And they ate the flesh and drank the blood to their own ruin, destroying their body and shortening their life, just like the Gentiles who did not know the truth, or who, knowing it, turned it into a lie.
13. As I send you, so shall you, too, send others, so that they may do these things in My name”, and He laid His hands on them.
14. And in the same way as with the apostles, He also appointed prophets and evangelists and pastors, a holy priesthood; and He laid His hands on all those whom they chose as deacons, on each one of the four times twelve.
15. And they are meant to lead and guide the universal
community, so that all may be irreproachable, each one at his place in the unity of the
body of Christ. (Chap. 87:11-15)

and deepen the word:
Recognize that even the words in the book called "The Gospel of Jesus” should be understood according to their meaning.
My word is the eternal truth. But since the eternal truth does not have the language and words of man, I fill the words of God-filled people with the eternal truth, so that people may hear Me and may understand Me according to their opened consciousness.
The truth, the law of the All, is active in all things and is not the shell, the matter. All forms of life which the earth yields, the nature and animal kingdoms, and man, too, are but reflections of the eternal truth, of the eternal law. So is the word of God, spoken through the mouth of a human being, also only a reflection of the truth. Therefore, if a person wants to understand Me, he has to feel into the word and grasp the meaning of the word, the truth, which I Am in the word of the God-filled person. The word of God, spoken through a human being, is the conveyer of the truth and should thus be understood according to its meaning.
Just as people are apt to change their way of thinking, speaking and acting from one epoch to another, so do their terms and words change. In each epoch, the Spirit of truth, which I Am, uses the respective words and terms of the prophetic and enlightened people living then.
Today [1989], many words and terms have a different meaning than in former times. Hence, I explain and correct what has been written down when the terms of today [1989] differ from the former ones. The vocabulary of the conveyers who put the divine message into the respective words of their time has to be considered.
When the conveyer receives the divine message by inspiration, the Spirit of life then uses the vocabulary and terms of the receiver to convey the truth. Therefore, as previously revealed, the words should be understood according to their meaning only - that is, should be received in a way that is faithful to the sense and not to the word. The one who adheres to the letter considers the material shell to be the truth and cannot understand the meaning of the living word. Therefore, it is said: First actualize what you can understand; then your spiritual consciousness will expand for further aspects from the eternal truth, and you will gradually be able to understand and actualize more.
For this reason, words like "evangelists”, "pastors”, "holy priesthood” and "deacons” also have to be understood according to their meaning. The conveyer who wrote down the message many earthly years ago took his vocabulary and the terms which were familiar to him in relation to the groups and communities of people in the Spirit of God.
I repeat: The Spirit of life puts the truth into the word of God-filled people, and the person expresses the word in his mother tongue. The Spirit, God, can use only those words of man which are familiar to the person himself. Therefore, the words of truth should be understood according to their meaning. This is why I have to explain and correct again and again. This held and holds true in all epochs.
I explain: I spoke to My followers as follows: I will appoint prophets; and enlightened men and women will bear witness of the life in God. At all times, there will be a host of fulfilled people who strive towards God, who do the will of God more and more. And those who fulfil the will of God will live in community, in brotherhood with Me, the Christ. Many of those who are called will found communities in My Spirit.
Until all people live in Me, the Christ, elders, spiritual teachers, leaders and healers are needed in the communities. From the original communities in Me, the Christ, there will repeatedly emerge elders, teachers, leaders and healers who discuss everything and vote on it with the members of the original communities, and then start and carry out what was decided together.
These communities are the original image of life in the community of people who are with Me. The elders, teachers, leaders and healers are on the same level as the members of the communities. Among each other, all are brothers and sisters in Me, the Christ. But until all human beings have become one people in Me, the Christ, and comply with the law of love and of life and follow the Shepherd, Christ, alone, there is a need for elders, teachers, leaders and healers, who, however, do not put themselves above the other members of the community.
When the Era of Light has enveloped the earth, there will no longer be teachers, leaders and healers, because the fine-material kingdom will embrace the Kingdom of God on earth. There will be o n e community between the human beings and the beings of light, and there will be o n e ruler and leader - Christ. And as above, similarly will it be below, that is, on earth in the Kingdom of God.
When My life has become the life of all the members of these communities, the
so-called elders in the original communities will also assume other functions. They will
then be the older and the wise ones who know about all the things of Inner Life and who
also know about the evolution towards the Kingdom of Peace of Jesus Christ; they can also
be consulted in many matters by the members of the original communities.
